The Easy 20 School Kit gives you the Insect Lore School Kit experience without the set-up!
The Live Easy 20 School Kit provides educators with many opportunities to teach science, math, reading, environmental studies and environmental awareness. Promoting group working and hands-on learning this project is perfect for those classrooms tight on space. Raise and feed your very own butterflies and then release them into the wild! The entire transformation from caterpillar to adult butterfly takes between three and five weeks.
The classroom size habitat is perfect as a temporary home for your butterflies with plenty of viewing space before release day. Its super clear see-through mesh and zippered entry allows easy access for care and feeding.
See An Amazing Transformation
Four separate cups of 3-5 caterpillars (live butterfly cultures) will arrive with all of the nutritious food they need (no need to separate the food or caterpillars). Place the cups in a safe place away from direct sunlight. The caterpillars will remain in the cups and will eat, spin silk and grow to TEN times their original size! After seven to ten days they will hang upside down and harden into chrysalides (chrysalides are also known as pupae).
Raise Your Very Own Butterflies
Once the chrysalides have hardened, gently move them to the pop-up butterfly habitat. It will take about seven to ten more days for them to complete the transformation to adult butterflies
